HYGIENE AND PERIODONTICS
Prevention in dentistry is a comprehensive measure to ensure public health through governmental, hygienic, social and medical measures aimed at eliminating the factors that lead to disease. In dental treatment, preventive programs taken by the patient and his or her dentist to maintain oral health play an important role.

Professional oral hygiene is performed by a qualified hygienist or dentist. The main goal of occupational hygiene is to prevent caries and periodontal diseases (tissues surrounding the teeth). This procedure consists in removing soft and pigmented plaque, removing supra- and subgingival dental plaque (tartar) and non-surgical gum treatment, and also includes deep fluoridation and the use of sealants in case of increased tooth sensitivity. The formation of plaque and tartar leads to exposure of the necks of the teeth, increased tooth sensitivity, destruction of the dental attachment, gum disease, bone loss, and tooth mobility, which subsequently leads to tooth loss. Caries develops rapidly under plaque. Poor oral hygiene leads to the accumulation of bacterial toxins and leads to the development of inflammation, destruction of the periodontal attachment and the formation of a periodontal pocket. Bad breath is noted.

In order to maintain healthy teeth and gums, it is recommended to: brush your teeth regularly; visit a dentist at the first symptoms of disease (pain, hypersensitivity, bleeding, etc.); in the absence of signs of disease, visit a dentist at least once every 6 months for a preventive examination.
Periodontitis is one of the most common dental diseases: it affects about 90% of people over the age of 40. Its danger lies in the inflammation of soft tissues that perform the protective function of the tooth, as well as the subsequent destruction of bone tissue and the gingival junction. The initial stages of periodontal disease development are mostly not perceived by the patient as requiring immediate dental intervention. Because of this, the disease progresses: the area of inflammation gradually increases, bleeding increases, gum recession and tooth root exposure are observed. Until recently, the treatment of such problems was painful and time-consuming.
The use of modern equipment made the procedure as gentle and quick as possible. Our doctors use an ultrasound system in their work. Its difference from other methods of treatment is the gentle removal of bacterial biofilm and tartar using high-frequency ultrasonic vibrations. There is no damage to healthy tissues in this process - safety is ensured by a high degree of localization of the vibration effect.
