ENDODONTICS

Endodontic treatment is a method of root canal treatment, which is performed when diagnosing periodontitis or pulpitis, as well as in a number of other indications. This procedure requires a high level of professionalism from the doctor, because the further condition of the tooth depends on the quality of the work.

Dental therapy covers various areas of dental medicine. One of these areas is endodontics, which studies the structure and functions of the internal tissues of the tooth - pulp, dentin, which are referred to as endodontics. Modern endodontics has in its arsenal many different means that allow to carry out treatment at the highest level. All instruments and equipment were developed taking into account the fact that working with the canals of the teeth requires special subtlety and accuracy, delicacy and maximum efficiency. Thanks to this, the risk of complications after treatment is reduced to zero. Materials in endodontics meet all the necessary requirements. They are hypoallergenic, easy to use, allow for excellent canal sealing, durable, resistant, aesthetic, safe and available for X-ray diagnostics.

Symptoms of root canal damage may include persistent sharp or aching pain in the tooth, pain when closing the teeth and chewing food, and when in contact with cold and hot foods. Also, if the pulp (the connective tissue that fills the tooth cavity) is affected, the enamel may darken, the gums may become red and swollen. If you have any symptoms, it is better to consult a dentist immediately. Most often, when pain appears, the tooth is already severely damaged. That's why preventive examinations are so important.

Before starting endodontic treatment, the dentist performs local anesthesia and then isolates the diseased tooth with an elastic latex plate. It protects the working area from saliva. After that, the dentist cleans the root canals using the necessary equipment, instruments and preparations, and in some cases, a dental microscope. It is very important to treat the entire length of the root canal. An X-ray is taken for control. After the canals are cleaned, the dentist puts medicine in them and closes them with a temporary filling to protect against infection. A permanent filling is not placed immediately. First, the tooth needs to be treated, inflammation eliminated, and complications prevented.

Removal of the tooth nerve and all other manipulations of endodontic treatment are performed under local anesthesia and are absolutely painless, delicate and comfortable. In case of panic attacks and severe dentophobia, endodontic treatment can be performed with general anesthesia.
